Storyline:
A ‘cocky and independent’ teenager is looked after by a couple while her mother is away, but in reality has gone for good. She longs for her own garden and with the help of a teenage street-gang leader creates one in the grounds of a bombed-out church. A lonely spinster befriends her and proves to be her salvation when she is taken to court for stealing earth and flowers, later providing a Trust both for her and her eventual adoptive parents.
Additional Information:
Originally uploaded by Simon James in 2009, when the capture criteria was more limiting than now, this film has been re-addressed by Richard Lovejoy with additional captures from an improved print copy and our now customary storyline text. Given the name of the lead character, this film had as they say, ‘his name on it’.
The composition of Capture 24 is detailed here.
The still photograph from the Pinewood Archives associated with Capture 40 can be viewed here.
Can you help:
If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Difficult to get the "now" but the Churton Street and Tachbrook Street corner is the same. In 2017 George Philips kindly noticed I'd muddled Churton with Charlwood. The same corner is seen in 'Echo of Barbara' and this comparison only shows a third of the original on the right. SJ

I managed to improve on my shot 17 years ago by shifting the surviving corner and terrace of Churton Street with Tachbrook Street to the right. SJ
